We were skeptical but after a side by side taste test the results are clear. The glass of wine that was poured through the Vinturi aerator was significantly better than the glass that was not.
We have since bought these as gifts and our wine drinking friends love it.
I suggest using this device on red wines. Does not seem like it should have an impact on whites.

I bought two wine aerators and they have identical cracks starting at the air holes in the sides of the device. The items seemed well packaged and arrived without external damage to the shipping carton. Two aerators. Four cracks. Identical positions. Hmmmmm. Amazon offered to take them back but it's an international shipment and I'm already out of pocket for non-refundable exchange, duty, and brokerage fees. It's just not worth the hassle, but I won't buy from a third party again.

I am not a wine enthusiast, and definately not into drinking red wines. I had a friend who had one of these aerators and she poured me and some of my friends a glass without it being aerated. I choked down a sip and almost felt like coughing. She then poured some through the aerator and I took a sip. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it was... I could actually drink it and actually liked it. I was amazed that I could actually enjoy red wine and I drank the entire glass and finished it before everyone else. I still do not drink much wine, but I know people who are wine enthusiasts and I am thinking this little gadget will make great gifts.

When I was touring Napa, California, I tried red wine using an aerator. I had never seen one before and thought it was a great idea for allowing wine to breath quickly. I didn't buy one right away. I saw this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. And I love it! It does make red wine more lushes. If you like red wine, you will love using this aerator!
